About This Call
The Northwest Art Alliance's Emerging Artist Program is designed to help ease the journey from emerging artist to successful, experienced artist-business person. Emerging artists are part of the Best of the Northwest Spring show but are juried separately, using criteria similar to other event artists. One or two winners are selected and paired with a Northwest Art Alliance legacy artist who acts as a mentor.
The EAP artist is awarded a 10 x 6 ft booth space free of charge (including pole, drape, and electricity) in the Best of the Northwest Spring show and features prominently in show promotional materials. Winners also receive advance promotional materials, coverage in newsletters and social media, special "Emerging Artist" listing in the event program, free passes to give to customers, and invitation to the free pizza dinner on load-in day. The 37th annual Best of the Northwest Spring show is a 2-day event showcasing over 100 artists from over 15 different mediums, taking place April 11-12, 2026.
Eligibility requirements include: artist must not have participated in a previous Best of the Northwest event, must be over 18, must be prepared to have sufficient inventory for a 2-day art event, and must commit to working with mentors. Artists must present a current Seattle business license or purchase a temporary license for $20. Jewelry is not eligible for this program. Limited reproductions are acceptable, with one-of-a-kind artwork preferred. Application fee is $35 non-refundable. Winners will be selected and notified by February 24, 2026, with mentorship starting in early March.
