About This Call
NùD is a group exhibition dedicated to figurative art, open to both 2D and 3D artists nationwide. Selected artwork will be displayed and available for sale in the Gallery at Graphite in Edmonds, Washington, as well as on the gallery's online website for the duration of the two-month show.
Graphite Art Center is an award-winning art facility in Edmonds, the first city in Washington designated a Creative Arts District. The exhibition will be complemented by concurrent events including life drawing sessions with a nude model, life drawing instruction classes, and lectures on the history of the nude in art. The opening reception and awards ceremony will be held Saturday, January 21, from 7:00-8:30 pm at the Gallery at Graphite, 202 Main Street, Edmonds, WA. The exhibition runs from January 14 through March 18.
Jurors are Tracy Felix, a 2D artist and Director of The Gallery at Graphite, and David Varnau, a figurative sculptor. Cash prizes include $1,500 for First Place, $1,000 for Second Place, $750 for Third Place, $500 for People's Voice Award, and $350 for Artist of Merit (two awards). Artists retain 70% of sales; the gallery retains 30%. Payment to artists will be made by March 31. Entry fee is $35 for the first artwork, $5 for each additional (maximum three works). Artists must be 18 years or older and residing in the United States. Artwork must be original, available for sale, and meet specific size and presentation requirements. 2D work maximum framed size is 60" high by 48" wide; minimum is 16" x 12". 3D sculptures on pedestals may not exceed 50 pounds, with maximum dimensions of 72" high by 48" wide by 48" deep.
