Now Trending: 9th Annual Alpay Scholarship Exhibition

Current art and media students from Southern California colleges and universities are invited to submit engaging new work to be showcased in Palos Verdes Art Center's 9th Annual Alpay Scholarship Exhibition, Now Trending. This call is free to enter but open only to currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students in Southern California. One $5,000 cash prize will be awarded, and the scholarship winner will be considered for inclusion in future PVAC exhibitions.

All media will be considered, including but not limited to: Painting, Drawing, Printing, Sculpture, Glass, Ceramics, Fiber Art, Photography, Video, Film, VR (virtual reality), AR (augmented reality), Installation Art, Performance Art, and Mixed Media. Applicants must submit up to 3 pieces of original work with images (JPEG/JPG format, 1,200 pixels or greater on the longest side, under 5 MB, sRGB color profile). All entries must be accompanied by the artist's college or university affiliation and a short statement about their work or practice, including what they would do with the scholarship prize if awarded.

Juror Fafnir Adamites holds an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and is an Assistant Professor and Head of the Fiber Area at California State University, Long Beach. Jury selections will be announced by May 2, 2025. Artwork take-in days are May 30 & 31, 10am - 4pm. The exhibition will be displayed in the Main and Walker galleries at Palos Verdes Art Center, 5504 Crestridge Road, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275, from June 7 - July 5, 2025.
