Now Trending: 7th Annual Alpay Scholarship Exhibition

Current art and media students from Southern California colleges and universities are invited to submit engaging new work to the Palos Verdes Art Center's Alpay Scholarship Exhibition, Now Trending. One $5,000 cash prize will be awarded, and the scholarship winner will be considered for inclusion in future PVAC exhibitions. This call is open only to currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students in Southern California.

All media will be considered, including but not limited to: Painting, Drawing, Printing, Sculpture, Glass, Ceramics, Fiber Art, Photography, Video, Film, VR (virtual reality), AR (augmented reality), Installation Art, Performance Art, Sound Art, and Mixed Media. Artists may submit up to 3 pieces of art. All work must be original to the artist and the source material must be original to the artist or from a permitted source. Entry is free.

Juror selections will be announced by May 8, 2023. Artwork take-in days are June 2 & 3, 10am - 4pm. The 2023 Alpay Award recipient will be announced at the opening reception on June 10, 2023, 6 - 9pm. The exhibition will be displayed in the Main and Walker galleries at Palos Verdes Art Center, 5504 Crestridge Road, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275, from June 10 - July 8, 2023. The juror is Jeanne Medina Le, Assistant Professor in the School of Art at California State University and Fiber Program Area Head.
