Northwind Art Showcase 2023

Northwind Art's 2023 Showcase Gallery Program begins February 2, 2023 at Jeanette Best Gallery in Port Townsend, WA. For more than 10 years, Northwind Art has presented a gallery program featuring artists showing for a full year. The program is open to 2D and 3D artists in the North Olympic Peninsula area working in any media.

Approximately twenty 2D and up to four 3D artists will be selected for the program. There will be several themed shows during the course of the year. Artists will be chosen by a panel of three jurors: two Northwind Art gallery staff/curators and one outside consulting juror. Jurors will vote independently, judging the quality and professionalism of submitted work, looking for a cohesive body of work and a variety of media, techniques, and styles. The $30 entry fee goes towards administrative costs and juror fees.

Selected artists will receive a 60/40 commission split (60% of sale price to artist) with no monthly fees. This is a traditional gallery model, not a co-op program, and artists are not expected to work at the gallery. A one-time $150 marketing fee will be used to create artist information cards, promote and sell work on the website, and create promotional materials. Showcase artists are first-choice eligible for the Art in the Hospital program and other Northwind Art outreach programs. Showcase artists are free to have short-term shows at restaurants and offices but cannot have long-term representation at another gallery or retail outlet in Port Townsend. Applicants may submit up to 5 images for review (no larger than 5MB). The program is open to 2D and 3D artists in the North Olympic Peninsula area working in any media. Jury review period is October 14-31, 2022. In-person reviews of finalists are scheduled for November 7-10. Final decisions and artist notifications occur November 11. The Showcase Gallery 2023 runs from February 2 through December 30.
