Northeast Regional Call: A Thousand Words

The Blooming Artist Gallery & Instruction invites northeastern artists to submit artwork for entry into the juried exhibition "A Thousand Words." This exhibit will feature an aesthetically varied showcase of fine art revealing discerning and profound originality through conscientious and deliberate execution. Both 2D and 3D works of various mediums, subjects, and styles are welcomed.

Artists may submit up to three artwork submissions. The entry fee is $45 (nonrefundable). Submissions must include 1-6 images and be submitted via Call for Entry. Artwork photos must accurately represent the artworks and framing, with clear backgrounds and minimal color or textural variations. Artwork titles must appear exactly as desired for artwork tags, website, and social media.

2D artwork must be properly framed or gallery wrapped, with neat and clean appearance and no damages. Minimum size is 12" x 12" (including frame) and maximum is 36" x 36" (including frame). Artwork must be properly wired with minimum 2" clearance between top of wire and top of frame when hung. 3D artwork must be free-standing, require no electrical support or mounting, and cannot exceed 100 lbs. Artists must supply any necessary stand for display.

Eligibility: Artist's residence or studio must be located in the northeast United States (NY, CT, MA, ME, NH, NJ, PA, RI, VT). Artwork must be original, completed within the past three years, and not previously exhibited at The Blooming Artist. Artists must be 18+ years old. Acceptable mediums include acrylic, charcoal, clay, collage, colored pencil, etching, glass, graphite, metal, mixed media, oil, pastel, watercolor, and wood. Unacceptable mediums include digital art (including AI-generated), photography, and reproductions. Artwork must be for sale and priced appropriately according to artist's previous sales history.

Exhibition dates: August 16 - October 12, 2024. Opening Art Reception & Awards Presentation: August 16, 2024 (5-8pm). Artist notification of acceptance: June 21, 2024. In-person artwork drop-off: July 27 & July 30, 2024 (1-4pm). Mailed artwork arrival: July 22-27, 2024. Shipping fees are the artist's responsibility; prepaid return shipping labels must be included with all shipped artwork. Awards: First Place $350, Second Place $150, Third Place $50 (cash or artist-relevant gift cards). Juror: Ann Larsen.
