Norfolk, VA Offsite Gallery Solo or Group Exhibitions

Offsite Gallery invites proposals for solo, two-person, or group exhibitions. Special consideration will be given to proposals that include a community engagement component facilitated during the exhibition or opening reception, such as a hands-on workshop or artist talk. Exhibitions rotate every 6-8 weeks.

Artists must submit 5-10 JPEG or PNG images and a written proposal including: artist statement and CV or resume, information about the subject of the work and exhibition intent, an image list with title, medium, dimension and year completed, an idea for a community engagement component, and preferred exhibition dates. There is no application fee. Offsite Gallery will host an opening reception, create and print 50 invitations, prepare artwork labels, and advertise on social media. The gallery does not take commission; sales are between artist and buyer.

Artwork must be gallery ready with hanging wire attached (no sawtooth hangers). Offsite Gallery will hang artwork unless unusual requirements are necessary. Approximately 8 pedestals of varying sizes are available, and a display window leading into MacArthur Center is available for separate installation or video screening. Artists are responsible for artwork delivery and any unusual installation or removal expenses. Eligible artists must be 18 years or older, working in any visual media, and residing in the Hampton Roads, Virginia region including Norfolk, Chesapeake, Hampton, Virginia Beach, Newport News, Suffolk, Franklin, Poquoson, Williamsburg and the counties of Gloucester, Isle of Wight, James City, Mathews, Southampton, Surry, and York. Applicants will be notified by October 15, 2022.
