About This Call
Nor'Easter is the NBMAA's 52nd Annual Juried Members Exhibition, open to national and international artists 18 years or older with current NBMAA membership. Original works in all media executed during the past two years and never previously exhibited at this Museum are accepted. Up to three works per artist may be submitted, with a maximum of one work per artist selected for exhibition.
The exhibition runs August 11-28, 2022, with a reception and awards ceremony on August 14, 2022 (12:30-2:00 p.m.). Prizes include First Prize ($1,000), Second Prize ($500), Third Prize ($250), and two Juror's Award and Visitor's Choice awards (upgraded membership to Friend's Circle level). The juror is Anna Swinbourne, PhD, Executive Director and CEO of Hill-Stead Museum in Farmington, Connecticut.
Entry fee is $10.00 per submitted work. Two-dimensional work must be framed and ready for installation with hanging hardware already installed; maximum 84 inches in any dimension and 75 pounds. Three-dimensional work cannot exceed 48 inches in any dimension and 150 pounds. Installation work must include detailed installation instructions with reference photos. Artists must provide equipment for video or sound work. The Museum prohibits glitter, wet paint, sharp objects, open flames, balloons, sprays, dangerous chemicals, weapons, pressurized containers, plants or animals, hazardous materials, or decaying materials. Selected works must be delivered ready to hang/display. Shipped artwork deadline is August 1, 2022. Artwork not picked up by August 31, 2022 (1-5 p.m.) will become Museum property. The Museum will not be responsible for damage and does not deduct commission on sales.
