About This Call
Nor'Easter: The NBMAA 46th Annual Juried Members Exhibition is open to national artists 18 years or older with current NBMAA membership. Original works in all media executed during the past two years and never previously exhibited at the Museum are accepted. Up to three works per artist may be submitted, with a maximum of one work per artist selected for exhibition.
The exhibition will be on display in the 3,000 sq. ft. Stitzer Family Gallery from January 9 – February 14, 2016. The Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony will be held on January 10, 2016 from 1-2:30 p.m. Notification of accepted works will be sent on December 1, 2015. Receiving of accepted works is December 17, 2015 from 3-7 p.m., with a deadline for shipped artwork of December 28, 2015. Pick-up of displayed works is February 17, 2016 from 1-5 p.m.
Prizes include: First Prize – $1,000 and a solo show at Five Points Gallery in Torrington, CT; Second Prize – $500; Third Prize – $250; Juror's Award – Upgraded Membership to Friend's Circle level and NBMAA Blog interview; Visitors' Choice – Upgraded Membership to Friend's Circle level and NBMAA Blog interview. Entry fee is $10.00 per work, with an additional $10.00 media fee for each additional piece. Two-dimensional work must be framed and ready for installation, not exceeding 84 inches in any dimension and 75 pounds. Three-dimensional work cannot exceed 48 inches in any dimension and 150 pounds. All work requiring assembly or complex installation must be accompanied by detailed installation instructions with reference photos. The Museum prohibits glitter, wet paint, sharp objects, open flames, balloons, spray, dangerous chemicals, weapons, pressurized containers, plants, animals, hazardous materials, or decaying materials.
