Noir

Pour-d is a contemporary gallery in Rockford, Michigan, inviting artists to submit work to the 2023 juried Fall Show titled Noir. The exhibition will be featured in the gallery's main space, housed in a historic building in downtown Rockford. The show theme focuses on black, white, and grayscale imagery, exploring how contrast, textures, patterns, and emotion can become the focus when colors of the rainbow are absent.

The exhibition runs September 5 through November 10, 2023. Featured artists are invited and encouraged to attend the opening reception. All mediums and genres are considered, including painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, glass, fiber, functional work, digital art, photography, mixed media, and new genres. Artists must submit 1-4 images of original, unsold work for which they own the sole copyright. The entry fee is $20 (non-refundable). Submissions must include at least one image, a biography and/or artist statement, artist website link, and links to at least one social media platform.

Notifications are generally sent via email within 3 weeks of the call closing. Selected artists will receive exhibition status or wait list status. All accepted work must be ready to hang and remain for the duration of the exhibit. Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping; work must be shipped with prepaid UPS or FedEx return labels in reusable containers. Hand delivery is encouraged for local artists. Pour-d Gallery retains a 30% commission on all exhibition sales. Payment to artists will be provided within 60 days after the exhibit concludes and receipt of full payment from the buyer. Artists may also provide prints of their work for sale, with the same 30% gallery commission applied.
