Night Works

Night Works invites photographers to submit images made after dark, where night is not simply a setting but an active collaborator. These photographs may be dramatic or understated, urban or rural, populated or solitary. They may explore artificial light, long exposures, ambient glow, or near-total darkness. What matters is not subject, but how the night shapes the image.

Photographs where darkness informs mood, structure, and meaning are sought—where light is used deliberately, sparingly, or imperfectly. Night can suggest intimacy, isolation, vulnerability, calm, unease, or reflection. All interpretations are welcome. The exhibition is juried by John Manno, Director of Decagon Gallery.

Submit up to 10 images in JPEG or JPG format with a minimum size of 2100 px on the longest side. Entry fee is $25 for up to 4 images, $5 for each additional image. Deadline: March 31, 2026. Selected entries will be announced April 15, 2026, with the online exhibition running April 20 – June 20, 2026. Awards: First Place $500 cash prize and solo online exhibition; Second Place $300 cash prize; Third Place $200 cash prize. Additional juror awards and honorable mentions receive free inclusion in the exhibition catalog. Open to photographers worldwide, 18 years and older. Only color photography will be considered.
