Night of a Hundred Angels 2012

The 2nd Annual "Night of a Hundred Angels" event is a celestial celebration of worldwide talent featuring artworks in various media including painting, drawing, sculpture, crafts, jewelry, and digital art. All ideologies dealing with the theme of angels are eligible. The gala opening will be held on Saturday, July 14th, 2012 in Laguna Beach, with the show running through August 6th, 2012. The opening and artist's reception will be held in Studio 1 at LCAD from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. During the show, hours will be Monday-Friday from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. Ten percent of net proceeds will benefit the O.C. Children's Hospital. The event will also include a "live angels" costume competition with first, second, and third place cash prizes, beginning in downtown Laguna and culminating at LCAD for judging.

This is an open call for professional and student artists, directors, publishers, and artist representatives. All original artworks in all mediums dealing with the theme of Angels are eligible. Accepted artists will have their originals displayed in Studio 1 at LCAD and published in the "Night of A Hundred Angels" volume II book edition. All artworks must be original and the artist must own the copyrights. Artists grant permission for their work to be printed in the book, with all copyrights acknowledged. All accepted artworks that are displayed must be available for sale. Artists are responsible for shipping and return shipping of unsold pieces. Artists may select the option of having their work presented in the book only.

Entry fee is $25 per single entry and $15 per each additional entry. There is a separate $40 publishing fee for works accepted into the book. Entries must be submitted by midnight, June 28th, 2012. Artists whose work is accepted will be notified via email within two weeks. Entries are divided into five categories: Painting, Drawing, Three Dimensional Works (sculpture, relief, crafts, jewelry), Digital, and Mixed Media. The jury will present Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards for exceptional works in each category. Whelan Galleries is located at 353 N. Coast Hwy, suite A, Laguna Beach.
