About This Call
#NewVisions2023 is an annual online, open-themed collegiate student photography competition presented by Texas Photographic Society. The exhibition will be juried by V. Elizabeth Turk, Professor of Photography at Savannah College of Art & Design.
Submissions are open to college undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education students at least 18 years old who are enrolled in a college credit course or continuing education/noncredit course. All skill levels are encouraged to apply. Students may submit up to 12 images, with each image judged independently. Any photographic-based work is welcome including digital, silver, alternative processes, mixed media incorporating photography, collage, and book arts. All genres are welcome: documentary, fashion, street, landscape, portrait, self-portrait, representational or abstract.
Entry fee for current TPS Student Members is $25 for 5 images, plus $6 for each additional image. Non-member entry fee is $30 for 5 images, plus $6 for each additional image. Images must be submitted as JPG files, minimum 1200 pixels on the longest side and 5 MB maximum. The deadline for entry is February 28, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. Mountain Time Zone. Exhibiting artists will be announced March 21, 2023, and the online gallery will open at that time.
Awards include a Grand Prize of a Fujifilm X-T30 II camera with XF18-55mm lens kit, First Prize of $300, Second Prize of $200, Third Prize of $100, and up to 5 Honorable Mentions. The juror will select 50 images for the online exhibition to be showcased on the TPS website gallery. Works exhibited previously in a TPS exhibition are not eligible.
