New Vanguard: Explorations into the New Contemporary III

The New Vanguard: Explorations into the New Contemporary III is an international juried competition open to all artists 18 years or older working in painting, printmaking, drawing, mixed media, digital, collage, fiber, sculpture, and photography. The competition seeks art that pushes boundaries in genres including High Brow, Low Brow, Pop Surrealism, Hyperrealism, Graffiti Art, and Abstract Art. Artwork must have been executed in the last five years. Artwork created under the supervision of an instructor is not eligible.

Submission deadline is December 22, 2021. Notification of acceptance or non-acceptance will be sent by December 30, 2021. The entry fee is $40 for one to three images, with an additional $5 per image up to a maximum of 7 images. Work sample requirements: minimum 3 images, maximum 7 images. 2D work must not exceed 6x10 feet and must weigh no more than 50 lbs uncrated. 3D work may not exceed 80"x32"x48" and must not exceed 50 lbs.

The exhibition runs January 21 – February 13, 2022, at KEEP Contemporary in Santa Fe. An artist reception will be held Friday, January 21, 5:00-8:00pm. Shipped work must arrive by January 17, 2022, and hand-delivered work by January 17, 2022. The gallery retains a 40% commission on all sales. All artwork must remain on display for the duration of the exhibition and must be for sale. Artwork will be insured by the gallery during the exhibit. Shipped work will be returned the week of February 14, 2022. Hand-delivered work may be picked up Monday, February 14, 2022, 10:00am-5:00pm. The juror is Jared Antonio-Justo Trujillo, artist and gallery director at KEEP Contemporary.
