New Riverside Barn Park Public Art Commission

The Town of Bluffton is seeking sculptors and other 3D artists to create an original, durable, outdoor piece for the New Riverside Barn Park. The Town created a Public Art Committee in 2022 and approved a Public Art Policy and Public Art Master Plan in October 2022.

New Riverside Barn Park is a 37-acre park on the western edge of Town featuring a woodland-themed playground, accessible swings, a misting station, shade and picnic structures, a zip line, and a paved perimeter trail. Future additions include more trails, an open air event pavilion, rainwater pollinator gardens, and disc golf. The barn is being renovated to host events.

Applicants must submit images of their initial design, a PDF document including an artist's statement, information about materials and durability, installation schedule, ongoing maintenance requirements, and an estimated budget not to exceed $65,000 (including artist's commission, materials, manufacturing, transportation, and installation costs), a professional resume/CV listing uploaded projects with points of contact, and 4-10 images of past projects under the portfolio section. Artists eligible for this invitational call should be established artists or artist-led teams who work in 3D media and have completed projects for private clients, public agencies, and/or grassroots or community projects. Jury dates: 6/24/25 - 7/29/25.
