About This Call
Photographic artists of all walks are invited to submit their latest works to a national juried show at the Academy Art Museum in Easton, MD. The exhibition aims to highlight the current state of photography across a broad spectrum. Artists may submit all types of photographic works including digital, analog, alternative processes, etc.
Juror: Philip Brookman, Consulting Curator, Department of Photographs, National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C. Brookman has organized exhibitions on Gordon Parks, Eadweard Muybridge, Hank Willis Thomas, Taryn Simon, Sally Mann, Robert Frank, Jim Goldberg, Gilles Peress, Larry Sultan, and Danny Lyon. He is a photographer, filmmaker, and writer working extensively on issues of modern and contemporary art.
Entry fee: $30. Artists may submit up to 3 images. All works must be recent (within the past 3 years). Maximum 30 artists will be selected. Works may not exceed 40 inches in any direction and must be ready to install and framed with wire. Awards: Best in Show $1,000, Second Prize $500, Third Prize $250. Exhibition dates: April 24 – July 8, 2020. Submission deadline: March 16, 2020. Email notification of acceptance: March 27, 2020. Works delivery/shipments received: April 1 – 10, 2020. Reception & Awards with Juror: April 24, 2020.
