New Kids on the Block

New Kids on the Block is a juried exhibition showcasing works of art by students of four prominent metro-Atlanta colleges and universities. The exhibition will present works from a variety of media at MINT Gallery, April 26th through May 9th, 2014. Organized by students for students, the exhibition is sponsored by The Ernest G. Welch School's Art Student Union (ASU) at Georgia State University, Diverge AUC Art Club of Spelman College, and MINT Gallery.

Eligibility is limited to current undergraduate and graduate students of Georgia State University, Spelman College, Clark Atlanta University, and Morehouse College. All work must be original and completed in the past year. All media will be considered including, but not limited to, two or three-dimensional works, video, installation, and performance. Each artist may submit up to three individual works for consideration. There is a $5 entry fee. An artist statement of no more than 100 words is required.

Deadline for submissions is April 1st, 2014. Notification of accepted works will be by April 14th. Accepted works need to be delivered April 23rd and 24th (12-6pm) at MINT Gallery and must arrive framed/ready to hang/install. The reception is Saturday, April 26th, 7-10pm. Works can be picked up May 10th, 12-6pm at MINT Gallery. The Best in Show Award winner will have their piece purchased by MINT Gallery for inclusion in their permanent collection (up to $1,000).
