New Jersey Department of Health 2D Art Purchase

The New Jersey Department of Health is seeking to purchase completed two-dimensional artworks for display in the newly constructed State Department of Health Building located at 55 N. Willow St. in Trenton's Capital Complex. The building will house Department of Health office workers with some limited public access, and purchased works will be installed in elevator lobbies and other interior spaces.

Eligibility is limited to New Jersey residents age 18 or older who are permanent residents of Mercer County or maintain a permanent art studio address in Mercer County. State of New Jersey employees are not eligible. Artists may submit up to 6 images of completed, two-dimensional works including painting, photography, collage, and mixed media. All work must be framed, wired, and gallery ready. Work must be no larger than 42 inches in any direction and cost no more than $1,000 per piece. Artwork must be appropriate for a public setting and cannot be political, violent, or sexual in nature.

Submissions must be made through callforentry.org by July 7, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. EDT. The Art Selection Committee will review submissions and contact artists by late July regarding shortlist status. Shortlisted works will be reviewed in person in August for final selection. The project has a total purchase budget of $9,000 and intends to purchase multiple works from several artists.
