New Directions 2016 - 32nd Annual National Juried Contemporary Art Exhibition

New Directions 2016 is a national exhibition of contemporary art showcasing work by established and emerging artists from across the United States. The exhibition is juried by professionals from leading modern art museums and features work in drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture, installation art, glass, ceramics, fiber, and mixed media. Video/film, performance art, and wearable art are not eligible.

Eligibility is open to all artists residing in the United States and age 18 or older. Work must be original in design, concept, and media, completed within the last three years, and cannot be student projects or previously exhibited at Barrett Art Center. Two-dimensional work cannot exceed 40 inches along any side including frame. Three-dimensional work must fit within 60 inches high by 30 inches wide by 24 inches deep. Artists may submit 3-6 images. Entry fee is $50 for non-members ($40 for members) for up to three works, with $5 for each additional image. Notification of acceptance will be provided by August 16, 2016. Accepted work must be delivered to Barrett Art Center between September 7-9, 2016. The exhibition runs September 24 - November 5, 2016, with an opening reception on September 24, 4pm-7pm. Three cash prizes and two honorary awards will be selected by the juror and announced at the opening reception. A 25% sales commission applies to member sales and 40% to non-member sales.
