New City of Miami Administration Building

The City of Miami’s Art in Public Places (AIPP) program is pleased to announce a national Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for multiple permanent public art commissions at the new City of Miami Administration Building, currently under development at 1800 NW 37 Avenue. The Administration Building will serve as a central hub for essential City services and civic engagement, bringing together key departments and the City Hall Chambers within a highly visible public facility. Public art will be integrated throughout exterior civic plazas and interior public spaces to enhance the daily civic experience, reflect Miami’s diverse cultural identity, and contribute to the long‑term character of this major civic landmark. The total estimated public art budget for this project is $2,914,825.81 (all‑inclusive). It will be divided between each of the six (6) project locations: 1. Opportunity 1: Main Entrance Plaza Floor Artwork 2. Opportunity 2: West Entrance Plaza Floor Artwork 3. Opportunity 3: Main Entrance Seating Bollards 4. Opportunity 4: Playground Fence Artwork Integration 5. Opportunity 5: West Entrance Fence Artwork 6. Opportunity 6: Interior Atrium Suspended Artwork. Budgets for each Project will vary depending on scale, material, and installation complexity. Without any City obligation, anticipated Project commissions may range from $15,000 - $400,000+. This is a qualifications‑based call; artists are not required to submit concepts at this stage. Regional, national, and international artists with a U.S.‑based practice are eligible to apply, with regional and local artists receiving preference for select opportunities. Artwork scopes, site assignments, and associated budgets will be confirmed during the proposal phase following shortlisting.
