About This Call

The NCECA 2025 Multicultural Fellowship Exhibition is a call for entries from past NCECA Multicultural Fellows. The exhibition will run from March 7 to May 3, 2025, at the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art (20 S W Temple Street, Salt Lake City, UT 84101) and will run concurrently with FORMATION, the 59th annual conference of the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts, March 26-29, 2025. Ceramic artist Jennifer Ling Datchuk will select works for the exhibition.

Eligibility is by invitation only for past NCECA Multicultural Fellows. All works must be primarily ceramic; mixed media works will be accepted only when clay is the dominant material. Video and photography referencing ceramic materials, process, history, and/or extending expressive work capacities in clay will be considered at the jurors' discretion. Video samples should be submitted as links to accessible files on YouTube, Vimeo, or similar platforms, with up to two videos per work, no longer than two minutes each. Works shown in previous NCECA exhibitions are not eligible. Artists may submit up to three separate works with up to two supporting media files per work, not to exceed six total media files.

All work must fit through the venue's entryways and be safely installed. Individual objects should weigh less than 100 lbs. and have dimensions that can pass through a 36" x 80" entrance door. Larger works designed to be assembled from multiple parts in a modular fashion may be accommodated. Submissions must include an artist statement (limit 1000 characters), brief biographical statement (limit 950 characters), optional pronouns, hi-res headshot (300 dpi, .jpg only), and social media handles. High-resolution photographs are required for each artwork (300 dpi, .JPEG or .JPG, 8" x 10", under 5 MB). Each work image must include title, medium, height/width/depth in inches, whether artwork is for sale, retail value, primary discipline, and description. The entry deadline is August 8, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. MDT.
