About This Call
The NCECA 2024 Multicultural Fellowship Exhibition is a juried exhibition for past NCECA Multicultural Fellows. The exhibition will run from March 20, 2024 to August 17, 2024 at the Black History Museum and Cultural Center of Virginia (122 W Leigh Street, Richmond, Virginia 23220) and will run concurrently with Coalescence, the 58th annual conference of the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts, March 20-23, 2024. Ceramic artist Malene Barnett will select works for the exhibition from digital images and work statements.
Eligibility is by invitation only for past NCECA Multicultural Fellows. You do not need to be a current member to submit. Selected artists will receive membership and a complimentary conference pass for the 2024 conference. If the artist is a current member, they will receive an extension to their current membership expiration date for up to one calendar year. The conference pass and membership are not transferable.
Artists may submit up to three (3) distinct works with up to two (2) media files per work (images, video, or audio). Work sample requirements: minimum 1 image, maximum 6 total samples. All submissions must include an artist statement (up to 1000 characters), short bio (up to 1000 characters), pronouns (optional), headshot (jpg format), social media handles, and a declaration of monetary value for insurance purposes. Each work must include title, medium, dimensions, whether artwork is for sale, retail value, primary discipline (ceramics), and description. Selected artists will be notified in early November 2023. Artists are responsible for securely packing and shipping their works to and from the venue, and for insuring artworks in transit. NCECA will reimburse shipping/transport not to exceed $400.00 on ground shipping only. Artists must retain receipts for reimbursement after the exhibition closes. Contact: [email protected]
