About This Call
The 2018 NCECA National Student Juried Exhibition will run concurrently with Crosscurrents: Clay and Culture, the 52nd annual conference of the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts, held March 14-17, 2018 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The exhibition will be displayed at Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, located at 6300 Fifth Avenue in the Shadyside neighborhood. Exhibition dates are March 9 - April 22, 2018. Ceramic artists Sam Harvey and Martina Lantin will serve as jurors.
Eligibility is open to undergraduate, graduate, and post-baccalaureate students enrolled in the United States. Students enrolled at institutions where the jurors currently serve as faculty are not eligible. Applicants must be working towards a degree or be post-baccalaureate in art at the time of submission. Entry fees are $15 for NCECA members and $30 for non-members. Submissions are accepted online only at www.callforentry.org. Deadline is September 27, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. Mountain time.
All works must be primarily ceramic; mixed media works are accepted only when clay is the dominant material. Applicants may submit up to two pieces of artwork with up to two media files per work (maximum four media files total). Images must be JPEGs at least 1920 pixels in either dimension, not exceeding 5MB. Up to two video samples may be submitted; one must be no longer than two minutes. Audio files in AIFF, WAV, XMF, or MP3 format up to 10MB are accepted. Floor and pedestal works must be self-supporting; wall hanging works must include appropriate hanging systems. Individual objects should weigh less than 100 lbs. and fit through a 36" x 80" entrance door. Jurying will be conducted blind; artists' names may not appear in any images or file names submitted. All submissions must include an artist statement (up to 1000 characters) without the artist's name and a monetary value declaration for insurance purposes.
