About This Call
The 2017 NCECA National Student Juried Exhibition will run concurrently with Future Flux, the 51st annual conference of the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts. The exhibition will be held at the newly renovated galleries of the Oregon College of Art and Craft from March 2-26, 2017. Jurors are Linda Arbuckle and Justin Novak.
Eligibility is open to undergraduate, graduate, and post-baccalaureate students enrolled in the United States. Students enrolled at institutions where the jurors currently serve as faculty are not eligible. All works must be primarily ceramic; mixed media works are accepted only when clay is the dominant material. Work must fit through a standard door, and floor and pedestal works must be self-supporting. No more than two pieces of artwork may be submitted per artist, with up to two media files per work. Artists' names may not appear in any images or file names submitted for consideration, as this is a blind jurying process.
Entry fees are $15 for NCECA members and $30 for non-members. Applications are accepted online only at www.callforentry.org. The deadline is September 28, 2016 at 11:59 p.m. Mountain time. Each submission must include an artist statement (up to 1000 characters, without artist name), level of study, school name, professor information, and work details including title, medium, dimensions, retail value, year completed, and description (300 character limit). Merit awards will be determined by the jurors and announced during the exhibition reception. It is the student's responsibility to arrange and pay for shipping to and from the venue and to insure their artworks in transit.
