Nature Inspired: Winter 2015/2016 Edition

Nature Inspired is a published collection of writing and art that explores our deep connection to nature. It is printed four times a year, with each edition celebrating one season, bringing beautiful, thought-provoking works by writers and artists from around the world. For each season, two separate editions are printed: Short Stories and Poetry/Art/Stories. The Short Stories edition includes up to 25 short stories that meet the call criteria, and the Poetry/Art/Stories edition includes as many qualifying pieces as can be effectively included. The Winter Editions are due out December 23, 2015.

This international call is open to anyone 18 years of age or older. Submissions may include poetry, short stories, and visual artwork (paintings, prints, drawings, computer-generated images, and photographs of 3D work). Poetry must not exceed 1000 words and short stories must not exceed 5000 words. All writing must be submitted in English and reflect the Winter theme: a time of starkness, introspection, and the pure beauty of snow and frozen water. Artwork must be submitted as high-resolution, 300 dpi JPEG files. Entrants may submit up to five writing samples, five pieces of art, or a combination of both not to exceed five total submissions. The entry fee is $35.00. Submissions are reviewed as they come in, and applicants may be accepted, not accepted, or placed on a waiting list. Work in each edition is hand-picked to create a powerful collection of season-specific words and images.
