About This Call
Nature Inspired is a published collection of writing and art that explores our deep connection to nature. It is printed four times a year, with each edition celebrating one season. For the Spring 2016 Edition, submissions are sought for poems, short stories, and artwork that speak to both the literal and figurative experience of spring. The Spring Editions are due out March 2016.
Submissions may include poetry (up to 1000 words), short stories (up to 5000 words), or visual artwork. Artwork must be submitted as high-resolution, 300 dpi JPEG files. Submissions are reviewed as they come in, and applicants may be accepted, not-accepted, or placed on a waiting list. You may submit up to five writing samples per entry, five pieces of art, or a combination of both not to exceed five total submissions. Each season, two separate editions are printed: a Short Stories edition (up to 25 short stories) and a Poetry/Art/Stories edition including as many qualifying pieces as can be effectively included. The work in each edition is hand-picked to create a powerful collection of season-specific words and images.
This is an international call open to anyone 18 years of age or older. Entry fee is $35.00. Submissions must be in English. The application deadline is January 29, 2016 at 11:59 p.m. MST.
