About This Call
The Rhode Island Watercolor Society invites artists to submit work interpreting Natural Wonders, from large ones like the Grand Canyon to small ones like a budding plant in spring. This exhibition celebrates the natural beauty that exists all around us.
The show is open to all 2D media excluding photography and digital art. Work must not have been exhibited in a previous Rhode Island Watercolor Society juried show, must have been completed within the last 10 years, and may not be copied from copyrighted material or created under the direct guidance of another artist or tutorial. Pieces may not exceed 48 inches on the longest side including frame. Acceptable mediums include watercolor, gouache, acrylic, oils, ink, casein, collage, mixed media, monotype, and egg tempera. Work must be framed or otherwise presented professionally, with frames no wider than 1.5 inches. Framed work must be under glass or Plexiglass (except pieces on canvas, wood, or board) and must be wired with no wire or hanger showing when hung.
Entry fee is $20 per image for non-members, $15 per image for members. Submit 1-3 images. Drop-off and shipping dates are April 10-24 (Thursdays & Fridays 10am-4pm, Saturdays 10am-3pm). The exhibition runs April 26 - May 23, with an opening reception on Saturday, May 3 at 1pm. Notification of acceptance is April 10. Pick up is May 23, 10am-4pm. Return shipping window is May 23 - June 23. The show takes place both online and in person at the gallery in Pawtucket. If shipping, provide tracking information to [email protected]. The Rhode Island Watercolor Society receives 35% of any sales.
