About This Call

Cabrillo Gallery invites submissions for "Natural Habitats," an exhibition exploring all interpretations of the theme. Artworks may address natural habitats of living organisms, human-constructed spaces that feel natural, or metaphysical spaces where people feel at home—ranging from something as small as a bird's nest to the destruction of threatened species' habitats to the varied places where humans make their homes.

Eligibility: US artists working in all media, including video. Entry fee: $30 for up to 3 artworks. Submissions must include professional quality image or video files, artwork title, dimensions (inches), price, year completed, and a brief statement about the artwork. Submissions due December 22, 2021 at 10:59 Pacific Time. Acceptance/Awards announced January 2, 2022. Selected artworks will be exhibited January 24 to February 25, 2022. Shipped artworks must arrive by January 14, 2022; work delivered in person will be accepted January 17. Hand-delivered work must be picked up February 28 and March 1, 2022; shipped artworks will be returned by March 7, 2022.

Jurors: Donna Seager and Suzanne Gray, partners at Seager Gray Gallery, which exhibits emerging, mid-career, established and internationally known artists with a focus on works combining content with mastery of materials.
