About This Call
The Lory Student Center Arts Program announces "Native Now: Contemporary Arts from Colorado's Historic Tribes," an exhibition highlighting the artworks of Native American artists with a tribal relationship to Colorado. This exhibition will be the first to grace the newly renovated Duhesa Gallery in Colorado State University's Lory Student Center.
The exhibition is open to artists with a tribal relationship to any of the listed eligible tribes. Accepted media includes flat works no larger than 60 inches on either dimension and 3D works no larger than 60x60x30 inches (H x W x D). Video, audio, and installation work are not suitable for the space. Submissions must include 1-4 images. The juror is Melanie Yazzie, Diné (Navajo) Artist and Professor of Printmaking at the University of Colorado, Boulder.
Awards include Best in Show ($1,500) and Honorable Mention ($500). The exhibition opens August 25th with an opening reception scheduled for sometime during that week. Artists will ship work to the gallery, and the gallery will pay for return shipping. Submission deadline is June 15, 2014 at 11:59 p.m. MDT.
