Native American Art and Crafts

Indiana University Kokomo Art Gallery is hosting a juried exhibition of Native American fine art and crafts. The exhibition is open to all U.S. Native American artists over 18 who are federally recognized and enrolled tribal members. Any medium is accepted, and work must be original and completed in the last two years. There is no entry fee.

Work samples must be submitted through CAFE with a maximum of 3 images, audio files, or video files (minimum 1 total sample required). Files must not exceed 5MB. For 3D works, image details can be emailed to [email protected] to avoid using your maximum media allotment. All work must be accurately represented in jpeg images. Professional presentation is required: 2D artwork must be framed with a secure hanging method; canvas sides and staples must be covered. Sculptures and craftwork should be fully assembled, structurally sound, and include detailed installation instructions if necessary.

Artists will be notified on or before July 1, 2023. Artwork delivery is July 17-20, 2023 during gallery hours. The exhibition runs August 2-24, 2023, with an opening reception on August 2 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. and closing reception on August 23 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Artwork pickup is August 28-31, 2023 during gallery hours. Artists are responsible for delivery and pickup; work may be personally dropped off or shipped in a sturdy, reusable box with prepaid return shipping. Any work not picked up 30 days after the show ends becomes the property of the gallery. The gallery reserves the right to reproduce accepted images for promotion and archiving.
