National Watercolor Society International Exchange Exhibition

The National Watercolor Society (NWS) and the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour (RSW) present the 2024 International Exchange Exhibition, open to all Active NWS Members. Approximately 100 paintings will be selected for the Online Virtual Exhibition, and 40 paintings will be selected and shipped for the International Exchange venue in Edinburgh, Scotland (January 6 – February 10, 2024).

Artwork Requirements: Paintings must be watermedia on natural paper, synthetic paper, or Yupo only (no collage, Aquabord, canvas, digital media, photography, prints, or reproductions). All artwork must be exactly 8" x 8" with no mats or frames. Artists must be 18 years or older and NWS Active Members. Entries must be original works painted only by the artist, not produced in a class or workshop. Artists may enter up to 2 paintings; only 1 painting per artist is eligible for the international exchange venue and awards, though both paintings may be accepted for the online exhibition.

Submission and Fees: Entry fee is $25 for 1 image or $35 for 2 images (non-refundable). Images must be submitted online via CaFE (JPEG format, 1200 pixels or greater on longest side, maximum 5MB). All accepted work must be for sale. NWS retains a 30% commission on all sales, including presold paintings. Accepted artists will be posted on the NWS website by August 22, 2023. Artwork selected for the Scotland venue must be shipped flat with prepaid return shipping and a $40 handling fee payable by check.
