National Watercolor Society: First 100 Years - Exhibition at Hilbert Museum of California Art

To celebrate 100 Years of excellence and continuous growth, the National Watercolor Society is collaborating with the Hilbert Museum of California Art to create a top-tier exhibition featuring 95 paintings from current NWS members and 21 masterworks by early California artists from the Hilbert Collection.

The exhibition is open to all active NWS Members (Associate and Signature Members). Artists may submit one original watermedia painting on paper, Yupo, or Aqua panels with a recognizable subject or object. Partial collage is acceptable. Paintings must be no smaller than 12"x9" and no larger than 60"x44". Artwork may be from any year and need not be for sale. The entry fee is $30 (non-refundable). Submissions must be made through CAFE with image files in jpeg or jpg format, 1200 pixels or greater on the longest side, and maximum 5 MB. Entries will be juried by NWS Past Presidents Gerald Brommer (1968 & 1982) and Ken Goldman (2015-2018). If work is for sale, the commission is 70% to the artist and 30% to NWS.

Entry deadline is August 7, 2020 at 1:00 PM MDT. The list of accepted artists will be posted approximately August 24, 2020. The exhibition runs November 14, 2020 - February 20, 2021.
