National Watercolor Society 2024 Member Exhibition

The National Watercolor Society 2024 Member Exhibition is open to all Active NWS Members. This is an online virtual exhibition with $10,000 in cash awards to honor NWS Past Presidents: three $2,000 awards, two $1,000 awards, four $500 awards, and one ScholARTship Award. The juror of selection and awards is Larry Moore.

Eligibility and Requirements: Artists must be active NWS members (annual dues of $60 must be paid prior to entry) and at least 18 years old. Artists may enter up to two paintings, but only one painting per artist is eligible for acceptance. All entries must have been created after January 1, 2021 and not previously shown in any NWS exhibition. Paintings must be watermedia on natural or synthetic paper (Yupo, Aquabord, Claybord). No stretched canvas, canvas board, digital media, photography, prints, or reproductions are permitted. Collage may be used if aqueous medium constitutes 80% or more of the work. Entries must be original work, not derived from published images, and not created in a class or workshop. Photo reference material must have been taken by the artist.

Fees and Timeline: Entry fee is $45 for one image or $55 for two images (non-refundable). Entries are accepted January 1 - February 23, 2024, with the entry deadline on February 23, 2024 at 12:00 noon Pacific Time. The list of accepted artists will be posted to the NWS website on March 19, 2024. The exhibition runs May 1 - June 30, 2024. Accepted artwork may not be displayed or offered for sale in another exhibition from May 1 - June 30, 2024. NWS retains a 30% commission on exhibition sales and presold paintings. Artwork may be marked NFS (not for sale). Monetary awards remaining unclaimed by December 1, 2024 will be forfeited. For questions, contact [email protected].
