National Watercolor Society 2022 Member Exhibition

The National Watercolor Society 2022 Member Exhibition is open to all Active NWS Members. This exhibition is online plus includes an optional opportunity for accepted artists to display work at the NWS Gallery in San Pedro, California. The exhibition runs May 3-June 26, 2022, with an entry deadline of February 11, 2022 at 12:00 noon Pacific Time.

The exhibition features $10,000 in cash awards to honor NWS Past Presidents: three $2,000 awards, two $1,000 awards, four $500 awards, and one $300 People's Choice Award (only artwork displayed at the NWS San Pedro Gallery qualifies for the People's Choice Award). The juror of selection and awards is Tim Saternow. Entry fee is $40 for one image or $50 for two images. Artists may enter up to two paintings, but only one painting per artist is eligible for acceptance. Accepted artists will be notified on March 1, 2022.

Eligibility requirements: Artists must be 18 years or older and maintain active NWS membership (annual dues $50). All entries must have been created after January 1, 2019 and not previously shown in any NWS exhibition. Artwork must be watermedia on natural or synthetic paper; Yupo, Aquabord, and Claybord must be framed. No stretched canvas or canvas board. Collage may be used if aqueous medium constitutes 80% or more of the work. Digital media, photography, prints, reproductions, diptychs, and triptychs are not permitted. Artwork image size must be minimum 5" x 7" and maximum 40" on the longest dimension. All accepted work must be for sale with no price changes after acceptance. NWS retains a 30% commission on all sales. Accepted artwork may not be displayed or offered for sale in another exhibition during the scheduled exhibition time.
