National Watercolor Exhibition

The National Watercolor Exhibition is open to all artists living and working in the United States, both amateur and professional. The exhibition will be juried by Carrie Waller and will be on view from October 6 - December 16 in the Gladys and Karl T. Wiedemann Gallery. An opening reception will be held on October 6 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. with remarks. An optional Artisan Academy with Carrie Waller will take place October 6-7 at Mark Arts.

Entry Requirements: Only original paintings in water media on paper are acceptable. Each entry must be wholly designed and executed by the artist. No computer-generated images accepted. Source material must be your own design or your own photograph. Prints, copies, photolithographic or computer-generated artwork are not eligible. Collage elements must be less than 10% and comprised of water media on paper. Minimum image size is 8 x 10 inches. All artworks must be display-ready with display hardware included and should be framed, preferably matted and glazed with Plexiglas. Work must be created in the past three years and not previously exhibited in a Mark Arts exhibition. Each artist may enter up to four pieces. All artworks must be for sale.

Awards and Details: Mark Arts will award $3,000 in cash awards and numerous Patron Purchase Awards are anticipated. Mark Arts publishes an illustrated catalog with all accepted entries and will mail a complimentary copy to each entrant. Entry fee is $30.00 plus a $5.00 media fee. Submit 1-4 images. Results notification will be sent September 14. Deadline for receipt of shipped artwork is September 22. Hand-delivered artwork will be picked up December 19-20, and shipped artwork will be returned December 22. All accepted entries shall be available for sale, with Mark Arts taking a 40% commission on sales.
