National Sunrise & Sunset Show - The Rice Gallery of Fine Art

The Rice Gallery of Fine Art is accepting submissions for its 5th Annual National Juried Show, THE MAGIC HOUR (Sunrises & Sunsets). This juried event celebrates the special time of day when the sun rises or sets on the horizon by exhibiting, promoting, and selling original sunrise and sunset landscape paintings. Artists may submit 1 to 5 images of their best sunrise/sunset paintings to be judged individually by an experienced panel of judges comprised of fine art curators and professional gallery personnel.

All selected paintings will be featured for sale in an exclusive gallery exhibition at The Rice Gallery of Fine Art in Overland Park, Kansas, opening Friday, February 7th, 2020 and concluding Friday, March 13th, 2020. Selected works will also be included in an online digital art opening presented via Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and www.thericegallery.com. All selected paintings are eligible for cash prizes, with winners announced no later than Friday, February 7th, 2020. The show will be promoted via print, mail, and social media advertising.

Entry Requirements: Submit 1 to 5 images of original paintings only (no prints, reproductions, or photography). All submissions must be original paintings, completely dry, framed, wired securely, and ready to hang. Unframed size should not exceed 48 inches at its longest dimension. Paintings must be available for sale for the duration of the exhibition. Entry fee is $35 (non-refundable). All entries must be submitted via CAFÉ by Monday, December 23rd, 2019. Selected works must be received by The Rice Gallery by Monday, January 27th, 2020. Artists are responsible for all shipping expenses to and from the gallery, including shipping insurance. The Rice Gallery will collect a 45% commission on any paintings sold during the exhibition. Unsold work will be returned via shipment or local pickup no later than Monday, March 23rd, 2020.
