National Juried Solo Shows - Barrett Art Center

Barrett Art Center offers opportunities for established and emerging artists to exhibit solo work in the Crenson Gallery, a second-floor space in the organization's historic 1840s Greek Revival townhouse. Four solo shows will be hosted from August 2021 through June 2022, held in conjunction with national juried exhibitions in the main galleries. Anticipated show dates are: August 7 – September 11, 2021; September 25 - October 30, 2021; January 29 - March 5, 2022; and May 21 - June 25, 2022. Opening receptions will be held on the first day of each show, Saturday, 3-6pm.

Eligible media include drawing, painting, pastel, printmaking, photography, sculpture, fiber, and mixed-media works. The Crenson Gallery presents a unique opportunity for solo projects and installation works, including use of the adjacent exterior second-floor side-porch. Proposals of both contemporary and traditional artwork are invited. Selection criteria include technical and artistic execution, a cohesive body of work or coherent theme, overall artistic merit, and gallery size and structural capacity.

Entry fee is $35 for non-members and $25 for BAC members. Selected artists are required to pay a $150 gallery fee to support Barrett community programming and building upkeep. Applicants must submit 3-15 images. The juror is Nico Wheadon, Curator & Principal of bldg fund LLC. Notification of decisions will be sent on or about April 1, 2021 via email.
