About This Call
The National Exhibition of Photography is open to all interested photographers. Three sections are available: Professional, Amateur 18 and older, and Amateur 17 and under. Work must be that of the entrant; group work by two or more people will not be accepted.
This is a two-tiered juried show. Tier 1 judges evaluate digital images uploaded online. Images advancing to Tier 2 are judged onsite based on printed and mounted submissions. Judges evaluate visual impact, composition, technical quality, creativity, and presentation. Advancement from Tier 1 does not guarantee acceptance in the show. Photos containing sexually explicit, nude, obscene, violent, or other objectionable content are ineligible. Digital enhancement is allowed; highly manipulated images should be entered in the "No Style Restrictions" category. Work previously shown at the Fair or nearly identical work is ineligible. Identical prints may not appear in more than one category, and color and black and white versions of the same image cannot both be submitted.
Entry fee is $10 per photograph. Entries must be submitted online at callforentry.org (CaFÉ) by Wednesday, March 21 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time. Images must be .jpeg or .jpg format, 72 ppi/dpi, no smaller than 1920 px on the longest side, and no larger than 5 mb. Tier 1 notification will be sent by email by Wednesday, April 4, 2018. Images advancing to Tier 2 must be printed, mounted, and delivered by Wednesday, April 25 to the National Orange Show Administration Building, Gate 1, 689 South "E" Street, San Bernardino, CA 92408. Final judging results will be posted online by Tuesday, May 1. Awards include First Place ($100 and Rosette), Second Place ($75 and Rosette), Third Place ($50 and Rosette), Best of Show ($150 and Rosette), Coordinator's Award ($50 and Ribbon), and Honorable Mention Ribbons. No exhibitor may receive more than two monetary awards per class. The fair runs May 2-6, 2018. All entries must be picked up by Friday, May 11 by 5 p.m.
