National Exhibition of Photography | NOS Citrus Fair 2018

The National Exhibition of Photography is a juried competition open to all interested photographers. Three sections are available: Professional, Amateur 18 and older, and Amateur 17 and under. Work must be the entrant's own; group work is not accepted.

The competition uses a two-tier judging system. Tier 1 consists of preliminary judging of digital images uploaded online. Images advancing to Tier 2 are evaluated as printed and mounted pieces delivered to the fairgrounds. Judges assess visual impact, composition, technical quality, creativity, and presentation. Advancement from Tier 1 does not guarantee acceptance in the show; images must meet fair rules and judges' standards for print quality. Entries are organized into three sections with multiple divisions and classes covering documentary, color, and no style restrictions categories, including themes such as fairs/carnivals, citrus industry, waterscapes, architecture, people, fair memories, patriotism, and citrus-related subjects.

Entry fee is $10 per photograph. Photographers may submit 1-20 images. Digital enhancement for quality improvement is allowed; highly manipulated images should be entered in the "No Style Restrictions" category. Images must be submitted as .jpeg or .jpg files at 72 ppi/dpi, no smaller than 1920 px on the longest side, and no larger than 5 mb. Online registration and submission deadline is Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time via callforentry.org. Tier 1 notification will be sent by April 4, 2018. Tier 2 entries must be printed, mounted, and delivered by April 25, 2018 to the National Orange Show Administration Building, 689 South "E" Street, San Bernardino, CA 92408. Final results will be posted online by May 1, 2018.

Awards include First Place ($100 and rosette), Second Place ($75 and rosette), Third Place ($50 and rosette), Best of Show ($150 and rosette), Coordinator's Award ($50 and ribbon), and Honorable Mention ribbons at judges' discretion. No exhibitor may receive more than two monetary awards per class, but there is no limit to ribbons. All entries must be picked up by Friday, May 11 by 5 p.m. Entries selected for display will be posted for sale at the price indicated during registration.
