National Art Encounter 2018-19

National Art Encounter 2018-19 is a contemporary art exhibition open to 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional artwork by artists residing in the United States. The exhibition will be installed in the Naples Art Association's ground floor galleries at 585 Park Street, Naples, Florida from December 1, 2018 through January 12, 2019. Artwork must be created after January 1, 2014 and not exhibited in the Naples Art Association's galleries within the past 12 months. Original artwork only; prints produced from original works are not eligible. Maximum of two entries per artist.

2-Dimensional artwork must have a maximum width and height of 96 inches (including frame if framed). Framed works must be sturdy; glass may be used only if frame is smaller than 26 x 26 inches. For larger frames requiring glazing, Plexiglas must be used. 3-Dimensional artwork must have maximum dimensions of 48 x 48 x 48 inches with a maximum weight of 100 pounds. Artwork weighing more than 50 pounds must fit on a 20 x 30 inch platform cart. Ceiling suspended artwork cannot exceed 5 pounds. Pedestals will be provided, though artists with specific pedestal requirements should provide their own.

Nine cash awards totaling $3,500 will be presented: $1,000 Best of Show, $800 First Place, $600 Second Place, $400 Juror's Choice Award, $200 Award of Merit (2), and $100 Honorable Mention (3). Awards will be presented at a reception on Friday, November 30, 2018. Entry deadline is October 4, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Non-refundable entry fee is $29, payable online by credit card. Notifications will be posted to your CaFÉ account by October 26, 2018. An artist's statement of not more than 2,000 characters is required with your entry.
