Napa Valley Open Studios 2008

Napa Valley Open Studios invites visual artists to enter the jury process. The mission is to promote Napa Valley art through the opening of creative spaces across the county, to educate and inspire the community about Napa Valley art, and to support the livelihoods of working artists.

Jury submissions are open from 3/10 to 4/14 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Artists must submit four images and an artist statement (maximum 1,000 words). The jury panel, comprised of art professionals, will conduct blind judging and evaluate work based on: consistent technical proficiency with the medium; understanding of formal elements of art; coherent individual style and originality; and professional presentation expected in a gallery setting. Artists will be notified of jury acceptance on 4/21. The entry fee for jury submission is $15.00 (non-refundable).

To participate in Napa Valley Open Studios 2008, artists must: have work accepted by the jury; have a residence and/or studio in Napa County; have access to a creative space within Napa County available for public visits; be a working artist creating original art; have a working email address checked at least weekly; pay a $300 entry fee upon jury acceptance; and be a current member of Arts Council Napa Valley. The application deadline for the program is 4/28 at 5:00 p.m. Basic artist membership with ACNV is $25 annually; Registered Artist membership (including full listing and webpage on the online Artist Registry) is $50 annually.
