About This Call

The City of Napa is accepting submissions for 2D artwork to be displayed in the newly remodeled Maple Room at the Napa Senior Center. Artwork will be displayed for a 6-month period (January to June or July to December 2020). Artists must be available for installation and deinstallation.

Applicants must be artists currently living or working in Napa County, CA, and at least 50 years of age. City employees and their immediate family members are ineligible. Only completed artworks are eligible; conceptual proposals will not be considered. Artwork must be structurally safe for the general public, including children, extremely durable, and require limited maintenance. Maximum size is 9x9 feet, and artwork must have hanging wire on the back for installation on the hanging system. Weight limits may apply based on tracking system limitations.

Work samples should include 1-6 images and 0-6 videos (12 total samples maximum). Selection criteria include artistic merit, artistic context, maintainability, and location context. The City will provide signage with the artist name, studio location/home, and artwork information. 10% of any purchase fee will be retained by the City of Napa for public art educational programs.
