Napa ARTwalk 2013-15: Metamorphosis

The City of Napa and Arts Council Napa Valley are seeking up to fifteen (15) artists to participate in a temporary outdoor sculpture exhibit from June 2013 to May 2015 in downtown Napa. Selected artworks must relate to the theme "Metamorphosis: From the Start, Consider the Finish" and must be previously completed works. No artwork proposals will be accepted.

Artists must reside or work in Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, or Washington and be at least 18 years old. Each selected artist will receive an Artist Honorarium of $1,500.00 to assist with transportation, travel and other expenses ($750.00 upon artwork delivery and $750.00 upon artwork pick-up). Artworks will remain on view for approximately two years, during which community members and visitors may vote to select one artwork for a People's Choice Award, to be announced in Spring 2015. The program sponsor will collect a 10% commission on all sales resulting from the exhibit. Sold artworks must remain on site for the duration of the exhibition.

The theme Metamorphosis honors the cyclical nature of life and change. Artworks may represent a variety of cycles, recurring patterns or natural rhythms, including references to seasons, myths, poems, music, agricultural cycles, growth cycles, natural rhythms such as ocean tides or moon phases, or societal cycles. Printed and downloadable brochures with a map of artwork locations will enable self-guided viewing, and volunteer docents will lead ARTwalk tours.
