Napa ARTwalk

The City of Napa is seeking up to fifteen artists to participate in a two-year, outdoor sculpture exhibit from June 2015 to May 2017. The exhibition will be located in downtown Napa along two primary pedestrian corridors, with fifteen sites situated along main pedestrian walkways, bridges, the riverfront, and plazas. Eight sites are in close proximity to the Napa River, and seven are on major shopping and dining corridors.

Eligibility: Artists must reside or work in Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, or Washington and be at least 18 years old. Only previously completed artworks are eligible; no artwork proposals will be accepted. Artworks will be selected based on artistic merit, artistic context, maintainability, location context, and responsiveness to size and weight criteria. Each selected artist will receive an Artist Honorarium of $1,500 ($750 upon delivery in 2015 and $750 upon pickup in 2017). The entry fee is $20.00.

Artwork specifications: Artworks must weigh no more than 2,000 pounds and be secured to concrete pads ranging from 12" to 16" high with dimensions from 17" x 29" to 96" x 60". Artists are responsible for delivery and installation in May 2015 and pickup within 30 days of the exhibition's closing date in May 2017. All artworks must be structurally safe, extremely durable in outdoor conditions, and maintenance-free for the exhibition period. The City of Napa will insure artworks up to $75,000 per piece. All artwork may be available for sale during the exhibition, with the City collecting a 10% commission on sales. Submissions must be made online via CaFÉ by January 31, 2015 at 11:59 p.m. MST.
