About This Call
The Metropolitan Youth Orchestra, a youth and family development program of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, is seeking part time Youth Development Artist for cello, violin and viola as well as a full-time Youth Development Artist (YoDA) to join our team. This role is for dynamic string educators who believe music can do more than build strong musicians — it can build confidence, discipline, leadership, belonging, and lifelong skills. The Youth Development Artist will teach private and small-group string lessons, support orchestra rehearsals, mentor students, engage with families, assist with concerts and events, and help strengthen MYO’s life-skills-centered curriculum. We are looking for someone who is passionate about youth development, culturally responsive teaching, student mentorship, and creating a positive, encouraging learning environment for young musicians and their families. Salary is $50,000.
