About This Call
This photo competition recognizes amateur and professional photographers for their black and white, grayscale, sepia and monochromatic photos. Open to photographers from all over the world, selected works will be placed in the online gallery for exhibition and winners will be awarded cash prizes.
The competition offers two divisions: amateur and professional. An amateur photographer is defined as one who takes photos as a hobby and not for a primary source of income. A professional is a photographer whose main source of income is from selling photography. Professionals and amateurs will be judged separately. Entries consist of 1-4 images in JPG format, minimum 1200 pixels on the longest side and maximum 5MB in size. Images must be black and white, grayscale, sepia or monotone, produced from any camera type including analog film, mirrorless, DSLR, or mobile phone. Minor adjustments are acceptable. The entry fee is $35 for 1-4 entries. All entries must be original work with no signatures, names, logos, watermarks, frames or borders.
Entries are accepted from March 5 - May 5, 2023. Entries will be juried from May 6-8, 2023, with notifications emailed on or before May 8, 2023. Gallery selections will display beginning May 8, 2023. Awards include Best of Show Professional Photo ($100) and Best of Show Amateur Photo ($100). For every 100 entries registered, the Gallery will add $50 extra to the prize money to be split between the two class winners. Multiple entries will be juried into the gallery, with select entries awarded Honorable Mentions (no monetary prize). Prize money will be sent via PayPal to the email address on file. Selected entries and winners will be juried by an anonymous committee of jurors.
