My Life as a Dog

National Juried Exhibition, January 8-30, 2016. This exhibition invites artists to explore the theme of dogs from any perspective. Whether depicting a dog's point of view or the artist's, submissions should showcase unique perspectives on man's best friend. Artists may submit work in any medium, 2-D or 3-D, with no size restrictions, though space will be a consideration. All US artists are welcome to apply.

Entry fee is $35.00 for submission of 2 pieces, with an additional $10 media fee for each additional piece (up to 4 pieces total). Submissions must include 2-4 JPEG images (minimum 1920 pixels, maximum 5MB each), dimensions in inches (H x W x D format), materials, price, and artist's statement for each piece. The juror is Nathan Brines, a lecturer, educator, and photographer with an M.F.A. from East Carolina University. Prize: $500 Best in Show.

All exhibited work must be for sale. The gallery will take a 40% commission on works sold during the exhibition or within 30 days as a direct result of the exhibition, with payment mailed to the artist within 30 days of closing. Artists are responsible for shipping or delivering accepted artwork by December 30 (shipped) or January 4 (hand-delivered). Artwork must be picked up by arrangement on January 30 or return-shipped with a pre-paid label. All work must be original, clean, securely wired (no sawtooth hangers), and ready to hang. The exhibition will feature a community component with The Humane Society, accepting donations to their Wish List at the gallery. Ciel Gallery is located in the South End Arts District of Charlotte, NC, and is open Tuesday-Saturday 11:00 AM-6:00 PM.
