About This Call
"My American Experience" is a juried online exhibition hosted by O'Hanlon Center for the Arts. The exhibition invites artists to share their uniquely American experiences, exploring how the reality of living in America differs across individuals and communities. The show intends to encourage and honor freedom of expression through art.
The exhibition is open to all visual mediums including painting, drawing, sculpture, installations, textiles, and photography. Film, audio, and video are not accepted. Artists age 16 and over may submit up to 3 individual pieces of artwork. There are no size restrictions. Artwork may be offered for sale or not for sale. The entry fee is $40 ($30 for O'Hanlon Center members with coupon code). The submission deadline is February 26, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Chosen artwork will be announced by email on March 5 at 5 p.m., and the exhibition will be displayed on the O'Hanlon Center for the Arts website beginning March 9. An online Artist Roundtable discussion will be held on March 9 at 4 p.m. for selected artists.
The juror is Lauren Palmor, Ph.D., Assistant Curator of American Art at the de Young Museum, Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. Works previously shown at O'Hanlon Gallery in house or online are not eligible. Artists agree that photographic images and/or video of their artwork may be used by OHCA in various forms including print, online, and social media. For artwork sales within the first 60 days of the exhibition, artists agree to donate 30% of the sale price to OHCA.
