About This Call
This call is for murals on City-owned walls that the city has identified. Available City-owned walls are listed on the MurosConnects.com webpage with location, approximate size, and budget information. Artists may apply for one or more city-approved walls, with each wall listed as a separate category within the application. Budget, site details, and requirements vary by location.
The selection committee has determined that there will be no specific themes imposed on the projects. Artists are invited to propose a theme, design, or community engagement process for the sites. Successful proposals will be judged on aesthetic vision, excellence of past projects, and relevance/suitability for each approved site. Artists must submit 3-10 images of previous work (does not have to be murals), a basic Artist Bio, Letter of Interest, Resume, and Annotated Image Key. Artists or artist teams may submit multiple applications to demonstrate interest in different City-owned walls.
Proposals for murals on non-City-owned walls may be eligible for matching funds and will be considered on a case-by-case basis. For details on submitting proposals for private walls, contact Sherri Brueggemann at [email protected]. The deadline to apply is March 16, 2020.
