About This Call
Multi-Faceted is an exhibition designed to uplift and represent artists from marginalized communities through mixed-media work. The curator, Daniel Ramirez-Lamos, invites artists to consider: Why does your work push against preconceived notions? Why fight against binaries forced upon you as an artist or person? What stories are dire for you to express? Your art should address personal experiences or identities you want to share with the public, exploring the beauty and nuances of being from your community or navigating intersectional identities. This show celebrates creative freedom and authentic expression, encouraging artists to move beyond compartmentalization into narrow categories of work and typical artistic practice.
Eligibility: 2D and 3D artworks employing at least two media are accepted. Multi-media techniques must be listed in application materials. Artists may submit up to 3 works. Work must not have been previously shown in the gallery. Entry fee is $15. High-quality photos of work are required, along with title, media, dimensions, year, price/value, and a short artist description relating to the curator's questions. Colorful and high-contrast work is especially encouraged.
The exhibition runs September 22 - November 9, 2025, with an opening reception on September 26, 2025, 6-9pm. Accepted artists will be notified August 27, 2025. Artwork must arrive by September 10, 2025. All 2D artwork should have wire backing and fit through a standard door frame. The Arts Council retains a 30% commission on any artwork sold. Selected artworks may be photographed for marketing materials with proper artist credit. Artists are responsible for shipping costs both directions with insurance; the Arts Council covers insurance and liability while artwork is in the gallery. Awards: First Place $500, Second Place $300, Third Place $200, Honorable Mention $100. For questions, contact the exhibit curator at [email protected].
